Human Resources, Mental Health, Counseling and Psychology Team Leader

Flora is an accomplished Professional Psychological Counselor with over 18 years’ experience in counselling and Correctional Services. She is a member of the Kenya Counseling and Psychological Association (KCPA). Flora is the Human Resources, Mental Health, Counseling and Psychology Leader at at CODELP East Africa Consulting Ltd.

Flora is a good communicator, listener, community mobilizer and can speak well in English and Kiswahili. She understands well the operational context of South Sudan, especially issues on managing conflicts and trauma counseling related to the conflicts which add great value to the team. Flora has over one-year experience in conducting consultancy assignments and training assignment virtually using zoom, google meet and webinar platforms. Flora will take leading role as lead trainer in different sessions, resource materials preparation, and group work facilitation among others.

Flora has been holding leadership and influential positions in the society that has been recognized and member of various professional organizations/associations including the following: Makini Awards Programme Judge (2018), ISO certified HIV/AIDS Process Owner: ISO 9001:2008QMS (2012), Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association (KCPA), The National Association of Probation Officers (KNAPO), and Professional Trainers Association of Kenya (PTAK).

Flora has served in various organizations and Government Agencies including: Kenya State Department of Correctional Services, Kenya Ministry of Home Affairs, Privatization commission Kenya, British American Tobacco Company, Unilever Kenya, KPMG, Fred Hollow Foundation, Habib Bank Kenya, Finlay Kenya, Telecom Kenya (K), Kenya Tea Development Authority (KTDA), Adventist Relief and Development Agency Kenya (ADRA), Action Aid Kenya, Home Grown, Serena Hotels, Care Kenya, Food for the Hungry International/Kenya, Home Grown, Cooperative Bank of Kenya, Upfield Company LTD Kenya, and Transparency International Kenya (TI).

Flora has lectured and trained at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology- Human Resources Department, Kenya Institute of Human Resources Management, St Paul University, College of Human Resource Management (CHRM), and Maranatha Professional College of Counseling and Training.

Flora is professionally qualified with a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Sociology from Barkatullah University-India, Master’s degree in Sociology from Barkatullah University-India, Bachelor of Arts (BA) Sociology, Social Work and Psychology from Barkatullah University-India, Higher Diploma in Psychological Counselling from Kenya Institute of Professional counselling, Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from Institute of Human Resource Management. Other trainings attended include Strategic Leadership Development Programme, Senior Management Certificate (SMC), HIV Testing and Counselling, Training of Trainers (TOT), Crime Prevention, substance Abuse Recovery and HIV/AIDS, Stress and Stress Management, Counseling at Workplace, Conflict Resolution, Psychological Debriefing and Trauma Counselling.
