Johnson is an education and social development specialist with over thirty-five (35) years of experience in consultancy, programme management, and social development in Kenya and Somalia. He is a native of Coastal region of Kenya with good experience and understanding of the Coastal region of Kenya and neighbouring country of Somalia where he has implemented several projects. Johnson has grown from the classroom teacher to a remarkable consultant in education and social development sectors. He has made remarkable achievements in areas of education, couching and mentorship, leadership development, health, livelihoods, water and sanitation, peace building, emergency preparedness and response. Johnson has grown from a class room teacher, principal, education officer, programme manager, to being a consultant implementing development and humanitarian assistance projects.
Johnson has served in various leadership and influential positions with national and international development organizations, national governments, County or local governments, NGOs, Civil Society organizations, community-based organizations, communities, and local leaders in Kenya and Somalia including Education and Social Development Leader at CODELP East Africa Consulting Ltd (current); Kenya Ministry of Education - Classroom Teacher, Principal, Teacher Advisory Centre Tutor, Education Officer, District Education Officer and Chairman School Board of Governor Tarasaa High School; Somalia Education Project Coordinator, Community Liaison Manager, WATSAN Project Manager at World Concern Africa, Director for Somalia Imaan Relief and Development Organization; Operations Manager at TAK Kenya; Development Manager at Galole Constituency Development Office; Timothy Theological Institute South Africa; Chief Steward, Hola District Agricultural Show; Church Chairman and Member to the Methodist Conference Standing Committee; Aga Khan Foundation; and Consultant among others.
Professional growth and development: Johnson was trained as P1 teacher at Kagumo Teacher
Training College, with many years of experience promoted to S1 teacher, promoted to Education
Officer 1 and a degree in Education Management from Universidad San Juan De La Cruz University. Johnson has acquired additional skills in proposal writing process and project
